Edmund Halley and Our Hollow Earth

It's unfortunate that the History Channel chose to title their Ancient Aliens series as such, and didn't instead use their oft quoted Erich Von Daniken's Ancient Astronauts a more appropriate and historically reasonable title.

Going back to my own research of Charles Fort, I find a great affinity for the science and anecdote of this show, for Von Daniken's theories as well as those of Edmund Haley and other Ancient Astronaut theorists.

Extraordinaire claims require extraordinaire proof as the saying goes. Whether you seek information on the evidence of advance cultures through the Ancient Aliens cable program, or through you're own research, you will quickly find that there is a serious abundance of evidence, some dubious, some sound, for you to indulge in.

Edmund Halley is of course an English astronomer and mathematician who was the first to catalog the southern hemisphere for the crown, he also was trying to develop a mechanical explanation for planetary motion and he believed the earth was hollow, like a chocolate Easter bunny. Only instead of nothing, Halley believed there were several layers inside and that there was an internal sun.

This theory has been propagated and rehashed over the years by other various scientists. One scientist believed that the reason woolly mammoths had been found frozen in the arctic was because they had crawled out of the hole at the top of the earth where all our ancient creatures still reside! Doing research on the Hollow earth can quickly become it's own chasm to be sure. But it is fascinating. Some scientists have gone on to say that perhaps the earth is hollow in a Jules Verne sort of way, where there are caverns that sink like serpentine shafts down deep into the earth itself. To me this side of the Hollow earth theory is more plausible.

What to make of our hollow earth?

Well I perceive our hollow earth as such. The theory is at least an attempt to explain a flurry of poorly explained phenomena observed on earth. At most it's an excuse for some very beguiling researchers to milk funding out of grants and institutions for trips to the polar regions of the earth! I myself enjoy a penchant for the extraordinaire. Perhaps our earth is hollow, or perhaps there are inter-dimensional creatures that live in our earths magma. Maybe the polar regions have a certain gravity or zenith of radio waves that make it just the right place to collide all the right particles to go back and fourth between dimensions. As the Ancient Astronauts show would call them, ultra-terrestrials.

If you believe that some parts of our galaxy, nary the universe, are older than other parts, as I do, then you can easily postulate that any other planets similar to our own may have had millions of years to advance their culture over our own. Now they live in caves in our earth? Perhaps.

Meanwhile, I like to remember Edmund Halley who did successfully predict the return of the comet which eventually was given his name.

otherworldly beings in our own culture

I have another couple of ideas of what the hollow earth might refer to #1 we are surrounded by otherworldly beings in our own culture and #2 our hollow earth is contained within another earth on another dimension.

A stretch? Yes, positively. Not the kind of philosophy that jibes easy with the fluorescent lights in the frozen food aisle. But food for thought.

It gives a better meaning to Jules Verne's Journey To The Center Of The Earth.

It really does Lady Guinevere! How strange to think that the "gods" from the heavens, could actually live beneath our feet!
