If You Have A Great Wife, Hold On To Her Tight

My wife is a well spring of energy. She has a bright smile and her eyes light up like amber candles to me. She is kind, generous, warm and caring, my great wife.

I always tell her that life is perfect with all of it's imperfections. But it's damn hard to find any on her. Just the fact that she allows me to ramble on with my art and writing says this woman can roll with it! She really is a great wife and I try to show that I appreciate her as best I can.

Being married to an artist and writer is not as much fun as they might make it out to be in the movies. It takes a great wife to break this mustang I tell you what! She has to listen to first drafts, critique drawings and paintings and also be a regular sounding board for various sales pitches and other solicitous quotes. Not to mention having to bare all the usual trumpeting man sounds, smells and the occasional a Capella out of the shower or the kitchen. But she abides, this great wife of mine.

We get along, we communicate, we have as much fun as we can when we can. No matter what our situation may have turned into, we're always there for each other. There's always an I love you if you need one, always a kiss or two whenever.

She's so much smarter than she ever gives herself credit for. She studies wines and has learned a continent of facts in an ocean of knowledge. She gets along with all manner of people, like some sort of brunette angel hopping from place to place. She's always hopping, she even says so. Hopping in the shower, hopping to work, hopping to the store.

She has taken on the role of mother before we have had any children together, as I was a single Dad when we met. My daughter loves her just as much as I do. She is like a sweet smelling glue that holds our family together. She plays games with my daughter, and listens to her stories and looks at her art too, as the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree around here.

My advice to any man who has found a great wife is to hold on to her tight. Open your mouth once in awhile and by that I mean every day or a couple times a day and tell her you love her. Let her know how much she means to you, how much she means to your family. If you've found a match, you are in good with the Great Spirit. You are a better man because you have a great wife, tell her so.

Mostly I wanted to dedicate this batch of gumbo words to my great wife. Allison you are a wonderful friend, gentle partner, gorgeous eye candy, great wife and my spirit keeper. I love you.
